Tui Na Massage

Tui Na massage is a traditional form of Chinese therapeutic massage that has been practiced for thousands of years. It is a hands-on bodywork technique that is rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) principles.

The term “Tui Na” literally translates to “push” and “pull”, which reflects the main techniques used during the massage. Tui Na therapists apply pressure, kneading, rolling, and stretching movements to the body to stimulate the flow of Qi (vital energy) within the body.

During a Tui Na session, the client is fully clothed and usually lies on a massage table, although it can also be performed with the client seated or lying on a mat on the floor. The therapist may use their hands, fingers, palms, elbows, or even specialized tools to apply pressure to specific points or areas of the body. The pressure can vary from gentle and soothing to deep and vigorous, depending on the needs of the individual.

The benefits of Tui Na massage are said to be numerous. It is commonly used to alleviate musculoskeletal conditions such as back pain, neck pain, and joint stiffness. It can also help with digestive disorders, headaches, insomnia, stress, and anxiety. Tui Na is known for its ability to restore balance and harmony within the body, which is considered essential for good health.

It’s important to note that Tui Na massage should be performed by a trained and qualified practitioner who understands the principles and techniques of this modality.
